Stories are a fundamental part of our lives. They allow us to experience beyond our own perspective. We learn from sharing our stories, and Crux magazine wants to create a community of storytellers that learn from one another. Crux, a biannual independent non-profit magazine created by sisters, Katie and Jennifer McCluer, publishes personal essays, poetry, short stories, photography, and artwork by authors, artists, and anyone with something to say. At Crux magazine, we believe in a literature community that gives and takes, which is why we want to help people get their work out to the public. We think writers and readers from every kind of background should have access to art and literature and the ability to publish their own work. This makes our magazine rich in culture and diversity. We believe everyone has a story to tell, and it is our job to find those stories and share them with the world.
